Who we are…
Stansted Village Hall is a central part of village life in Stansted, Kent, providing a practical and welcoming space for local residents, groups, and events.
Stansted is a small rural village on the top of the North Downs and in the Tonbridge and Malling district of Kent. Over the years, it has remained a close-knit community, shaped by farming, local traditions, and shared village activities. The hall has played an important role in this, offering a place where people can meet, organise events, and come together for everyday and special occasions alike. The Hall has access and a toilet for those with disabilities
The Village Hall
The hall is run for the benefit of the community and is available to hire for a wide range of uses, including:
Community meetings and clubs
Classes, workshops and activities
Private events and celebrations
It is a flexible space that can be adapted to suit different needs, whether for regular bookings or one-off events. The main hall has dimensions of 13 metres by 7 metres and a capacity is 100 standing or 80 seated. The Village Hall sits on a pretty site at the edge of the village recreation ground. The recreation ground is owned by Stansted Parish and may be used in agreement with the Parish Council.
The hall has a licence with the Performing Right Society (PRS) for the performance of copyright music, but it does not have a licence to sell alcohol. Should this be required, it can be obtained from Tonbridge and Malling District Council.
Village Events
Stansted Village Hall also supports and hosts several well-established village events throughout the year, including:
The annual gymkhana, village fete and dog show
The monthly Village Market (not Jan/Feb)
The Horticultural Society Show, showcasing local gardening, produce and crafts
These events remain an important part of village life and are well supported by residents and volunteers.
Being Part of the Community
The hall is maintained by a small team of volunteers and trustees who help ensure it remains accessible, affordable and well looked after. New users, groups and ideas are always welcome.
Whether you’re looking to hire the hall, attend an event, or get involved in village activities, Stansted Village Hall is here to support the local community.
The 100 Club
Should you wish to contribute to the future of the Hall, we run the 100 Club which allows participants to make a £1 monthly donation and have the chance of winning monthly cash prizes. If you would like to participate in this, then please contact Jo Moore at moorejoanna@hotmail.co.uk.
